About the Conference

Preamble

Disruptive change is the new normal. Faced with these changes, organizations are struggling to devise effective strategies to cope with a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment. The disruptions are caused not only by disruptive technologies and innovations, which are severely dislocating established products and markets, but also by environmental issues, challenges of globalization and geo-political tensions.Disruptive change can be scary for organizations. These changes may cause many businesses to close down while others may emerge successfully. There are also those that struggle and finally quit the industry because they are unable to deal with the disruptive change. Entrepreneurship flourishes in the midst of disruptive changes but many new ventures perish due to inadequate strategies for developing the organization as it progresses from incubation to maturity. Environmental and sustainability issues may disrupt established supply chains necessitating a drastic re-orientation of the organization. Organizations are looking at cross border and domestic mergers and acquisitions to secure competitive advantages posing enormous demands on organizational development. Organizations have to be innovative, agile and extremely adaptive in adjusting organizational culture, structure, systems and processes to the disruptive changes to gain a competitive advantage.

Objective

The objective of this conference is to bring together academicians, research scholars, consultants, entrepreneurs and corporate executives to share their research findings and experience on the various types of disruptive change sweeping the world. The conference expects to address how companies and/or organizations are coping with disruptive change, what are the competencies and capabilities needed to confront such change, why some fail and others succeed, and what can be the strategies for organizational development to ensure sustained performance in the face of such disruptive changes.
Research papers and case studies are being invited from academicians, research scholars, consultants and students for submission to the conference. After blind double peer review, the authors of the selected papers would be invited to present their papers at the conference. Such selected papers will be further submitted to ‘Technology Analysis and Strategic Management’ (a journal of the Taylor and Francis Group) and other international journals for potential publication. Keynote talks and webinars by eminent persons during the conference will give participants a holistic understanding of the complex scenario prevailing today.
